Re : Explanation of the Operating Performance of the 1st Quarter of 2007
Amata Corporation Public Company Limited (Amata) and its subsidiary companies would like to report the net profit of the 1st quarter 2007 of 148.79 million baht. When comparing the operating performance from last year of 280.14 million baht, the net profit declined by 131.35 million baht
The decrease of the net profit of 1st quarter 2007 due to the fact that:-
1) In 1st quarter 2006, AMATA recognized more income from land sale and from land title deed transfer than that of the same period of 2007. So, the income from land sale of 1st quarter 2007 decreases from that of the same period last year.
2) In 1st quarter 2007, AMATA has been affected by the appreciation of Thai baht. So, the operating performance of AMATA's affiliated companies record a decrease.
